Approximately 17,000 Tons of coal requiring movement from Okobo in North Central Nigeria to Ewekoro in South Western Nigeria, over a distance of 800km, within a stipulated time frame of 3 Months
Mobilize and deployed a mix of owned and leased tippers for this purpose, with an average carrying capacity of 35 tons each over the duration of the contract. An ad-hoc transit base was established midway to cater for the utilities of both the vehicles and personnel. Additional measures we implemented to guard against
spillages during voyage. Delivery was achieved in record time of 2 months with zero incidents recorded.
Shelterbox Aid Delivery To West Africa
Aid agency Sheltebox International were looking to situate 2000 boxes of relief materials, consisting of specially engineered plastic tents to flood affected areas in West Africa in a time frame if about 48 hrs. Sheltebox, being new to the terrain banked on establishing relationships with competent home grown professionals with supervisory input from their end.
FCS was able to facilitate this deployment by capitalizing on its extensive reach within Africa and Abroad to deliver the materials within the stipulated period. A multimodal transportation solution was deployed, while leveraging on flexible capacity in air freight at a reasonable cost to ensure that the supplies were deliver as at when necessary. Supplies were moved from Shelterbox’s Cromwell location to Gatwick Airport in London for onward air freight to Lagos Nigeria, upon which the items were distributed to the affected communities via a mixture of air and sea transport. FCS also handled all customs related issues and waivers required to ensure seamless execution. This form of collaboration aided by in-depth understanding of the needs from both the donor end and the beneficiary, is a hallmark of our value proposition.
